11 Gravitational Waves detected
Above all 11 gravitational waves have been detected b LIGO and VIRGO .
Currently scientists have been detected 4 new gravitational waves-ripples in the fabric of space and time -emanating from separate black hole mergers.
So, for US base-LIGO and
European base-VIRGO both gravitational waves detected ----10 from Black hole mergers
---- 1 from neutron stars.
4 new named--1.GW 170729
--2.GW 170809
--3.GW 170819
---GW 170823
Gravitational wave GW 170729- detected by VIGRO(European detecter) on july 29, 2017.
Happened when-5 billion years ago.
Neutron stars merger-Equivalent to 5 solar masses which turn into gravitational radiation from September 12, 205 to January 19, 2016. During first LIGO observing run since undergoing upgrades in a program called Advanced LIGO 3 gravitational wave detected from black hole mergers,
2nd observing run from November 30, 2016 to
August 25, 201 in which one was neutron star merger and 7 was additional BINARY BLACK HOLE mergers including the 4 new gravitational wave event being reported.
GW 170814 was the first binary black hole merger by the 3 detector network and allowed for the first tests of gravitational wave polarization(ANALOGOUS TO HIGH POLARISATION).
The event GW 170817 DETECTED 3 DATS AFTER GW 170814 detected days after GW 170814 represented first time that gravitational waves were ever observed from the merger of a binary neutron star system.
This collision was seen in gravitational waves and light, making an exciting new chapter in multi-merger astronomy, in which cosmic objects are observed simultaneously in different forms of radiation.
One of the new events,GW 170818, WHICH WAS DETECTED BY THE LIGO nad VIGRO observatories, was very precisely pinpointed n the sky.
The position of the binary blak hole located 2-5 billion light years from earth was identified in the sky with and precision of 39 squares degrees.
That makes it in the next best localized gravitational wave source after the GW170817 neutron star merger. Thanks to advance data processing and better calibration of the instruments, the accuracy of the astro physical parameters of previously announced events increased considerably.
